 Day 3:  Today I have prepared the set for my music video and acquired the equipment to shoot my music video. 

Day 3:  Today I participated in another music video, this allowed me to think about any problems I might face with mise-en-scene as well as lighting and angles. This has also inspired me to be ambitious with the camera positioning and movement. 

  Day 1 : I have been experimenting with the type of animation I would like to create for my music video. To show a complete contrast between real life and the animation I would like to keep the animation in black and white, this will allow the audience to focus mainly on the changes that happen in the animation. However I may possibly make one aspect of the drawing coloured like the lips. 

 Intertextuality: The referencing of another media text or cultural product. In making this reference, the meaning is shaped and developed.  The way I would like intertextuality is by taking inspiration from "Mrs Potato Head" by Melanie Martinez 

 

Props : pink makeup brushes and makeup powders, gold makeup brushes, camera, mirrors, bed, plants, roses, crown Lighting : natural lighting, high-key lighting, red lighting, fairy lights Costume : white top, black top Colour :  red, green, gold Location : little girl bedroom, bedroom, living room  The mise-en-scene in this video is the main way of moving the story along. the artists is clearly portrayed as the star  as he sits in an armchair and sings through the entire music video as the backgrounds changes. The lighting is very important for the contrast and cyclical structure of the video. 

 Nice for what - Drake - Karena Evans  Evans is the younger sister of  Jordan Evans , a producer who has worked with several successful artists, and was inspired by him to pursue her passion.  Evans has stated that she is heavily influenced by  Melina Matsoukas , whom she called her "hero" in an interview with  Billboard .  Evans hopes to be an inspiration for other young  black women  from her hometown of Toronto.  Evans hopes to inspire other women “to see themselves and truly understand that they have a voice too." The video I looked was "Nice for What". The stylistic technique in this music video is the use of lighting and colour, each scene has a different coloured light as well as a main colour that stands out from the rest of the scene. The main colours used are red, blue, green and white in the form of costume and lighting. We can also see many of the scenes being filmed in natural lighting at golden hour.  Melina Matsoukas is an American music video,

  Sam Smith - Stay with me Setting the scene - early morning beginning of the day, street probably around where the character lives.  Getting ready - we learn about the character before we even meet them  Tracking - the camera follows as the character moves  Out of focus - the background is blurred to focus the audience on the character.  Choir - multiple people acting as the background singing  Adele - Chasing pavements  Setting the scene - car crash, people fallen out of the car, crashed into a tree, on the pavement  Close up - close up of artist as she sings.  Performace - choreographed performance Tracking - following the artist as she moves 

Arabella - Pretty Hurts I would like to create a music video promoting body positivity to empower women. I want it to be based on a photo model's point of view all the way from being a child to an adult. The video would show the impact of parent's influence as well as social media influence on body expectations set by society. The video will include animation in order to highlight the fact that perfection is a fictional concept.  [Verse 1:] Mama said, " You're a pretty girl. What's in your head, it doesn't matter Brush your hair, fix your teeth. What you wear is all that matters."  For this verse I will have a younger actor being the artist at a young age and getting her makeup done by her mum who is out of frame.   This is a video of me experimenting with some footage on premier along with a sound track. I made sure the videos cut to the beat and all are edited to match eachother. I added the song title on top of one of the videos and I experimented with zooming in on specifics of videos rather than using the full thing. I'd like to be more adventurous with the speed and editing of the videos in my music video.
