Ali Gatie website analysis

The artist I am looking at to inspire my music video and website is Ali Gatie, who is signed to Warner Music. Ali Gatie is an Iraqi–Canadian rapper, singer and songwriter.

Ali Gatie's website gives off a R&B/Soul vibe through the pink/purple background he uses along with the pink light that was used in the photo of him. 

Lower we get an option to watch and listen to his latest music video still on a purple background corresponding to his music genre. 

Scrolling further down we get links to his individual albums, his website clearly resembling his newest album "Running on my mind".

Right at the end of the website we get a link to his merch and all his social medias. 

This is the music video I will be analysing and taking inspiration from "It's You" 

The music video opens up with a dark street, some lamp light onto a white old fashioned car. The artists name pops up on screen in a vibrant yellow and all lowercase letters followed by the title in the same style. 

That is then followed by the artist in the back of that same car which could potentially be a cab since he's in the back and not driving it. 

This mid shot of the artist is flooded by what seems to be red light coming off of trafic lights. 

We then go on to see multiple shots just like this one where the passengers change along with the light colour in he cab however the artist is always sitting at the far window in every shot. 

Some of the shots that follow later on seem to be recorded by hand/hand held and are in a worse quality than the rest giving it a vlog like quality which is something I would definitely like to include in my video. 

These techniques have all really inspired me, I would definitely like to include different lights and camera quality in my music video to emphasise the meanings through colour theory.
