Music videos

Music videos have always been a big part of my life, my music taste usually depended on whether or not I like the music video. It was always interesting to me to see the artistic idea behind the lyrics, and that's exactly what the music videos provided, they let me see the deeper message in the song. I feel like many people listen to music and don't actually understand what the artist is trying to say, whereas music videos show us the hidden meaning in their words.

It has become vital for artists to present their song with a video, sometimes resulting in the video itself becoming viral rather than the actual song. In my opinion one of the most iconic artists with amazing music videos is Sia. The abnormal style of dance was a breakthrough in the world of music videos. However one of my favourite music videos is definitely "Bury a friend" by Billie Eilish, you can really tell a lot of thought has gone into the making of the video, not only the performing itself but also the camera work and editing.

Internet

The Internet got introduced to me when I got my own mobile phone at the age of 11, however it took some convincing from my peers to download Instagram. Instagram was my first social media app, and it didn't take long for me to get obsessed with it. I could spend hours and hours on endless scrolling and double-tapping. With the thrill of social media that rushed onto me from downloading Instagram, it was only a couple of days till I also downloaded Snapchat. They are probably still the most commonly used apps by me in my free time, however apps like Facebook, twitter, youtube, Pinterest and Tumblr have also entered the picture. Pinterest is most definitely the most useful app on my phone which allows me to take inspiration from other people for my art project at GCSE and A-level.

Video games

I first came into contact with video games at the age of 8 when my dad bought a PS3 (that I still have to this day) I remember getting instantly addicted to the game "Little Big Planet" that I played daily.

As I got older I still remember getting extremely excited about the second and third game coming out, however with time I simply didn't have time to play them once I had other priorities and developed a potential social life.

Advertisement/Radio:

I'm usualy very aware of the advertisement I get every day, however I must say that some definitely come as a surprise, especially pop-up adds on websites that have been modified to suit me, quite unsettling. No offence to Cookies.
I'd like to say I travel a lot, so adverts on billboards are no shock to me. I wouldn't say they're too effective unless it's telling me where the nearest McDonalds is.

Since I kind of send a lot of time in the car I tend to spend a lot of time listening to the radio which likes to provide some sneaky adverts in between songs, thanks, much appreciated.
We obviously can't forget commercials on the TV! Unfortunately I'm too lazy to watch them and i'm lucky enough to be able to skip them.

Film:

Films are possibly one of the greatest things ever invented, they allow me to escape from my dull daily life into the world of  Katniss Everdeen and shoot some arrows in a forest while running around looking for a way to absolutely destroy the point of the game I should potentialy die in. What I'm trying to say is that films are a great way to pass time, especially when you've planned to binge watch the entire series of Harry Potter in a day as your friends wonder if you're still alive. And some films are so good I could watch them time and time again and still be surprised or cry at the exact same point every time.

Television:

To be perfectly honest, I don't watch a lot of TV, unless i really have nothing to do. Yet, I do remember being absolutely obssessed with Disney Channel as a kid. Lets be honest, Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly place, Kim Possible and The Suite life of Zack and Cody were the foundations of my absolutely beautiful personality and humour.

Magazines:

I wouldn't say I'm the biggest fan of reading magazines, I guess I'm just simply not that interested in celeb gossip. The only reason I'd probably buy a magazine is because it has a free face mask or some cool fake tattoos. Although, I do agree that it is quite nice to have something to read while you're on the go and too broke to buy a book.

Newspapers:

What even are newspapers. I don't think anyone born since 2003 has ever read a newspaper, the ancient trend of sitting with a newspaper is clearly dying. What is the point of wasting the paper when everyone reads news on their phones these days. But not to worry, newspapers are great for paper mache, and a great surface for pen drawings!
